Passion Fur Paws is a mobile veterinary service in the high Rockies of Colorado. We serve all of Summit County, Grand County and some of Park county. We utilize Fear Free technique in all of our approaches and coordinate with owners to set their pets up for the most success. We range from in-home visits to stationary-site meet ups, whichever works best with the client, pet and our traveling schedule.

We see an average of 8-12 appointments per day. On procedure days we usually have a single morning procedure followed by 4-5 afternoon appointments. This allows our full attention on our anesthetized patient throughout all of their recovery until discharge to the owners.

The technician would be responsible for complete and thorough history taking, prepping and administering vaccines, venipuncture, processing lab samples, catheter placement, radiology positioning, safe and low-stress small animal restraint, filling and dispensing medications, dental cleanings and x-rays, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, etc.

The technician may also be responsible for doing solo technician appointments on days the attending doctor has other duties to fulfill. The technician must emulate confidence and efficiency on their own.

Positive, thorough communication, respect and professionalism are imperative for this position. We are in the comfort of owners’ homes many times and it is important to make them feel safe, comforted and heard during their pets’ appointments.

We hope you find this position intriguing as much as we do! If you’re looking to slow the pace of the profession down but still give amazing care to the species you love, then this is the position for you!
