Job Summary: Our high volume 1-2 doctor practice is seeking an experienced veterinary technician to assist our veterinarians with rooms and surgeries, as well as assisting our regularly visiting specialists. The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating for, and providing compassionate care to, both our patients and clients.

Responsibilities:

– Assist veterinarian with rooms, surgeries, and collecting and preparing lab samples.

– Collect appropriate patient histories and prepare patients for exams and procedures.

– Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.

– Perform routine laboratory tests and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

– Educate clients on proper animal care and treatment.

– Maintain accurate medical records and update client files as needed.

– Ensure that all equipment and supplies are cleaned and sterilized. As well as maintaining the general upkeep of the clinic and treatment area.

Requirements:

– At least 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician.

– Comfort with, and knowledge of anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.

– Understanding of general small animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical conditions.

– Experienced handling skills for cats and dogs during exams and procedures.

– Advanced technical skills preferred.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
