Job Description
The Humane Society of Boulder Valley (HSBV) is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join the veterinary support team in our recently renovated veterinary hospital.

We will consider candidates who possess a current State of Colorado Registration as a Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Colorado provisionally registered technicians (PVT) with part-time or full-time availability. Experience with Fear Free protocols is a plus. A pre-employment background check and drug screen are required for all employment candidates.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and customer service skills. Shows initiative and is a conscientious worker. Ability to handle multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced environment. Detail oriented and exercises good judgment when dealing with the public and animal-related concerns. Able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Experience with AVImark software preferred.
Schedule and Working Conditions
Shifts are ten hours in length. Saturday or Sunday availability is required. Work is performed in an animal shelter environment and a veterinary hospital environment. Exposure to cleaning agents when in kennel and hospital areas. Exposure to animals at all times. Subject to animal bites and scratches while handling animal of questionable temperament and under the effects of anesthesia. Daily lifting of up to 50 pounds. Ten-hour work shift requires frequent standing,
walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and lifting.
