Job Description

Vista Paws Mobile Veterinary Services is looking for an experienced, currently registered Veterinary Technician to join our growing mobile practice.

At Vista Paws, we believe veterinary care is built on relationships. Our clients welcome us into their lives and trust us to care for their pets through every stage—from their younger years through their senior years. We get to know our patients, their people, and what matters most to each family.

Working in a mobile practice is different from working in a traditional brick-and-mortar hospital. Our team manages the entire client and patient experience from the veterinary unit. Along with providing hands-on patient care, you will communicate directly with clients, complete medical records, prepare and maintain equipment, restock supplies, and help keep the unit organized and ready for every appointment. We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, works well independently, and wants to become a familiar, trusted part of the families we serve.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform duties within the legal scope of a registered Veterinary Technician
  • Assist with and monitor anesthesia
  • Perform dental cleanings and other assigned dental procedures
  • Obtain diagnostic dental radiographs
  • Assist with patient restraint, treatments, diagnostics, and sample collection
  • Monitor patients and communicate concerns promptly
  • Provide client education and follow-up instructions
  • Communicate with clients in person, by phone, and through text messaging
  • Respond to client questions and recognize when veterinarian involvement is needed
  • Schedule or coordinate appointments as assigned
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Complete client follow-up and other clerical or administrative tasks
  • Prepare, stock, clean, and organize the mobile service units
  • Ensure medications, supplies, and equipment are ready for the day
  • Properly operate, clean, and maintain veterinary equipment
  • Assist with inventory tracking and restocking
  • Identify and report equipment, inventory, vehicle, or service-unit concerns
  • Safely operate a company vehicle when required
  • Use Shepherd Veterinary Software for practice and medical record management
  • Use Otto for client communication
  • Once fully trained and comfortable in the role, you’ll independently manage technician appointments

What Makes Mobile Practice Different?

Our mobile units are fully functioning clinical spaces, but they do not have the same space, staffing, or immediate backup available in a traditional hospital.

You may move from monitoring anesthesia to communicating with a client, completing a medical record, resetting the treatment space, or restocking the unit. Success in this role requires planning ahead, staying organized, adapting when the schedule changes, and being willing to help with both the clinical and operational sides of the practice.

If you prefer variety, independence, direct client relationships, and being involved in the complete patient experience, mobile practice may be an excellent fit for you.

What You’ll Bring

  • Current veterinary technician registration or licensure
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Veterinary anesthesia experience
  • Veterinary dentistry experience
  • Dental radiography experience
  • Strong technical and patient-care skills
  • Excellent customer-service and communication skills
  • Comfort communicating with clients in person, by phone, and through text messaging
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions within the scope of the position
  • Ability to balance patient care, client communication, administrative work, and mobile-unit responsibilities
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Dependability and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to help maintain, stock, clean, and organize mobile units and equipment
  • Experience with Shepherd and Otto is helpful but not required

Schedule and Opportunity for Growth

The position will begin on Thursdays 8:00 a.m. and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

As the practice grows, there is significant potential to add another workday and independently manage designated technician appointments.

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • Paid time off
