Event Details

Cannabidiol (CBD), a derivative of the cannabis plant, has become a popular herbal supplement in veterinary medicine. However, many questions surround its use, including the legality for veterinarians to discuss or prescribe it, as well as its proposed indications and long-term side effects. This talk will cover the pharmacology of CBD, its mechanisms of action, how it differs from tetrahydrocannabinol (another cannabis derivative), and evidence concerning its physiologic benefits and possible negative effects. The talk wraps up with a brief overview of product quality considerations.
