Angell Animal Medical Center founded in 1915, is recognized internationally as a leader in animal medicine and has the reputation as one of the finest veterinary teaching hospitals in North America. Angell serves the greater Boston and scenic New England area as a primary care facility, a 24-hour emergency hospital, and as a tertiary referral center. We offered the very first veterinary internship in the world beginning in 1941, running continuously to present day. Angell was instrumental in establishing specialty veterinary medicine. Our hospital has a long history of providing training not only to veterinary interns and residents but also to veterinary students and the veterinary community at large.

Angell offers specialty services in anesthesiology, avian and exotic medicine, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care medicine, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, nutrition, medical and radiation oncology, ophthalmology, pain medicine and acupuncture, anatomic and clinical pathology, surgery and behavior. AAMC is a rich educational environment offering weekly on-site continuing education seminars and regular multi-disciplinary specialty rounds.

At Angell Boston our doctors practice in an ~ 80,000 square foot, state-of-the-art hospital containing a critical care unit with mechanical ventilation capabilities, blood bank, multiple specialty rooms, 7 surgical suites, full service in house clinical laboratory, microbiology service, necropsy suite, histopathology laboratory for on-site biopsy evaluation, and a linear accelerator that can do stereotactic radiosurgery.

MSPCA-Angell West, is a 24-hour emergency and referral satellite hospital in the west suburbs of Boston, opened by Angell Animal Medical Center. The hospital is approximately 20,000 square feet, has been newly renovated, and is located 10 miles west of Boston in Waltham.

Angell West provides a unique opportunity to practice in an intimate client-focused setting, but with numerous amenities from the larger MSPCA-Angell Boston hospital as support. We are a non-profit hospital and a values based organization with a focus on client service, patient care and life-work balance. We are an AHAA Accredited Referral Practice.
