Event Details
This program will provide information on proper keeping of popular pet reptiles and amphibians. Husbandry issues are a common root cause for many pets to be seen clinically and knowing what is appropriate for the animal will assist in correcting issues and educating clients. Animals will be covered in general groups such as snakes, turtles, tortoises, desert and tropical lizards, as well as caudates such as the newly popular axolotl. I will review basic caging requirements, as well as appropriate heating, lighting, and humidity needs. I will also go over nutrition of herbivores, insectivores, and omnivores that fall into these categories.
